"the house that my father and I built in 1971, Frank Lloyd Wright’s un-built design for the Ralph Jester house of 1938, although owned by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, had accrued some serious problems over the ensuing forty years due to water damage to the living room’s foundations. Russ engineered the repair, and went further to have both the exterior and interior of the house repainted. Now, as it had been several years ago, the house is open to the public three days a week. The rebirth, one may justly call it, of this Frank Lloyd Wright home is the again the dedicated work of Russ Karlstad" Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer, Director and VP @ Frank Lloyd Wright Archives 2011
“Russ developed a beautiful new kitchen design by maximazing what was a small, cramped space into an extremely open floor plan. He was able to do so by adding very little square footage but rather through insightful design and material utilization. Russ worked very closely with the builder acting as our advocate on design and pricing decisions. Russ was very committed to the entire design process with frequent site visits, making plan adjustments as required, and assisting with local building authorities. Russ was invaluable to our project from start to finish.” January 30, 2008
